Couchbase Plug-in for Elasticsearch update

I posted a question at couchebase Q&A about the transport client for Elasticsearch. This because both Couchebase (February 2014) and Elasticsearch (January 2014) released new versions which are currently unsupported by the transport client. Which for me is very unfortunate since I really like to use the new functionality.
A friendly user pointed me to this project telling me that the couchebase team was focussing on an integration instead of a plugin. Thus I immideately looked at the project site and saw last activity on the 8th of February. Leaving me with with the following questions :
What is the current status of this project and do you have a release date ? Or am I too enthusiastic and should I be asking the couchebase team for an update of the transport client ?
