      Moved from https://github.com/couchbase/sync_gateway/issues/339.

      There are still a number of pros and cons about adding credential-based authentication to the Admin API, particularly the fact that it may encourage making the port externally available, making SG as a whole less secure. Having said that, there are enough use cases for secure remote access to the admin port that we should evaluate potential options.
