Enhance checkpoint resolution algorithm when local and remote checkpoint are mismatched

Instead of resetting the checkpoint to zero, we could enhance the checkpoint resolution to continue from the previous minimum checkpoint b/w local and remote or from an algorithm that builds up the intersection b/w local and remote checkpoint sequence set.
