    Description

This is quite a speculative request, but...

It would be nice if for tools such as cbc-pillowfight and cbc-n1qlback we could specify the URL of an OpenTracing end point (e.g. Zipkin or Jaeger Server etc).

The general idea being that as they run, they would be pushing performance information directly out to the remote tracing database.

This would be very helpful for a couple of areas:

      • It would make for great demonstrations, as we'd be easily able to show who the RTO features can be used in practice, and the value they provide
      • It would make it very easy for us to get additional insight and information when running performance investigations, both in-house and in the field.

As I understand... the necessary plugins into OpenTracing may not exist at the libcouchbase level, so this may not be as straightforward a request as it seems.

      Cheers,

      Tom
