    Description

      Currently we're building using the Go 1.18 compiler but without 1.16 features (generics etc), due to lack of tooling support - see https://github.com/golangci/golangci-lint/issues/2649.

      Once that's sorted, we should upgrade all our tooling to use 1.18.
