For MacOS, on the first attempt to run SDK Doctor it will fail with a message to the effect that the author cannot be verified, and therefore it cannot be executed.
After a failed attempt to run, one must go to "System Preferences" -> "Security & Privacy" -> "General", where there should be a message about allowing sdk_doctor to run even though it cannot be verified. Then click the lock at the bottom to "unlock" the settings, enter one's password, then click "Allow anyway".
