Description
There has been a fair few defects about this page (DOC-6711, DOC-6870, DOC-8598, DOC-8753) and a lot of information is out of date.
To be fair backwards compatibility of cbbackupmgr was a moving target (6.5 had support but for a time 6.6 did not) and explaining a three way compatibility matrix is hard. The 3 components are:
- The version of cbbackupmgr
- The version of the cluster being interacted with
- The version of the backup
Outlining the problems:
- The page hard codes the 6.5 version meaning with every version we pull this information forward. It should not focus on cbbackupmgr 6.5.
- Since 6.5 cbbackupmgr supports interacting with cluster 2 major versions below:
- cbbackupmgr 7.0 supports interacting with 7.0, 6.6 or 6.5
- cbbackupmgr 6.6 supports interacting with 6.6, 6.5 or 6.0
- cbbackupmgr 6.5 supports interacting with 6.5, 6.0, or 5.5
This page needs to be looked at for 6.5, 6.6 and 7.0 (latest).
