New: Stale Views and Data Size

I’ve just heard that the map functions in Couchbase are not run each time a
new document is inserted, and thus the keys emitted by a view may not be
updated.

Is this the case?

I’ve been told what happens is that when a new document is inserted the
view is marked as Stale, and is only updated when it is next queried, and
that the update requires the map function to be run across the whole set of
documents.
