Allow counter operations to fail on non-existing documents too

In 1.x versions of the SDK, it was possible to handle a situation where you increment a non-existing key. But with the 2.x version, there is no way to know you are incrementing a key that doesn't exist. It should be optional to throw have an exception generated so that we can handle this condition.
