Description
I want to be able to eject a node from a cluster using the cli. First, it is a little unclear exactly how to accomplish this as i dont see a server-remove command but it does look like server-add takes a server-remove option, so I will use that.
When I encountered this, I had a two node cluster running build 54.
Here are the steps I went through
1) establish current membership
[root@domU-12-31-36-00-45-D2 py]# /opt/NorthScale/1.6.0a/bin/cli/membase server-list -c 10.253.30.47:8080
ns_1@10.253.11.144 healthy
ns_1@10.253.30.47 healthy
2) remove a node
[root@domU-12-31-36-00-45-D2 py]# /opt/NorthScale/1.6.0a/bin/cli/membase server-add -c 10.253.30.47:8080 --server-remove=10.253.11.144
3) execute rebalance
[root@domU-12-31-36-00-45-D2 py]# /opt/NorthScale/1.6.0a/bin/cli/membase rebalance -c 10.253.30.47:8080
ERROR: unable to start rebalance.
4) rebalance appears to have failed, lets look and see what membership is
[root@domU-12-31-36-00-45-D2 py]# /opt/NorthScale/1.6.0a/bin/cli/membase server-list -c 10.253.30.47:8080
ns_1@10.253.11.144 healthy
ns_1@10.253.30.47 healthy
[root@domU-12-31-36-00-45-D2 py]#
will attach logs
