Need function to retrieve counter values

We need a function, e.g. COUNTER(), to retrieve the integer value of a counter that is stored directly as a binary value. Make sure it works with the edianness of how Couchbase stores counters. Or maybe, take an optional parameter for endianness. The counter binary will be a raw byte sequence. The result should be a N1QL number.
