      Hello,

      following an internal email thread on this topic I think it makes sense to track the progress/decision on this in a MB so we have a canonical place to point to.

      Here is my proposal:

      Since our data channels are intended for production it makes sense to optimize for performance since that's what couchbase is known for. For development, I can see two cases where people are interested in a pretty view: cbq and the UI. in both places we are in a position to prettify the result easily so we get the best of both worlds. Least network traffic in production while still retaining usability during development.

      Or as someone put it: let's not run the internet in debug mode!
