    Description

      Problem

We have identified the following options which exist in the 4.5 GUI for which no command apparently exists in the 4.5 Couchbase-CLI. In at least some of these cases, the 4.5 functionality has not been included in the REST API either. Inspection of the source code associated with the Couchbase-CLI shows that at least some of the source code files have been copied from 4.1.X to 4.5.X without any modifications.

      (1) Couchbase-CLI "setting-compaction" does not include the following options:

-enabling circular write mode for compaction
-defining days of the week when autocompaction should be enabled
-setting the metadata purge interval (this not available in 4.1 CLI either)

      (2) Couchbase-CLI "setting-alert" does not include the 4.5 option

-alert for a full indexer RAM

Customers depend on the CLI as well as the REST API to be able to build scripts which can be executed to create and modify clusters without it being necessary to have access to the GUI or even be onsite. It follows that all changes which can be executed from the GUI should be executable via the REST API and/or the Couchbase-CLI.

      Requests

      1) catalogue the full set of functionalities available on the 4.5 GUI (we don't know what other functionality in 4.5.X may not have provided for.

      2) make sure that all of these functionalities are covered by both REST and Couchbase-CLI. Note that the customer who initiated the Support Ticket leading to this MB much prefers the Couchbase-CLI as it it more user-friendly.
