FTS Transliteration capabilities

I have a prospect with the following requirement:

The system will be able to handle fuzzy searches using the transliteration and transcription rules in both directions. For example, this means that a query received as “ß” must be able to match “ß” (original spelling) and “SS” (transliterated spelling) and a query received as “SS” must be able to match “ß” and “SS”.

Following transliteration and transcription rules are handled:

• ICAO Document 9303;

• VIS;

• SIS.

During the system design more transliteration and transcription rules can be defined.

 I know we have fuzzy search. What about transliteration capabilities? I suppose we can have workarounds, but what about native support?
