Allow specification of inter-node communication, application traffic and management

    Details

      Description

We'd like to use the following network configuration on our CouchBase servers:
Each server has two network cards A, and B.
We'd like to configure each Couchbase node to use network cards as follows:
Network card A for the communication between the servers (replication, re-balance and such).
Network card B for communication between the server and the clients.

Possible further enhancements would be a 3rd interface for "management" (8091) and XDCR traffic

The advantage of having such a feature is isolating the “DB network” from the clients network. It’ll be useful and significant especially when re-balancing and when the system is in stress/peak.

I also think this is an important feature for CB to become a mature product for more serious usage. For example in a lot of high-end relational database cluster people would have a separate 'back-to-back' network for things like replication, administration, heartbeat, etc. It provides better availability, performance and finer granularity for security control.

You can do this today but a more manageable way to do this would be good.
