Description
I was trying to setup a one node cluster through UI navigating to "Couchbase > New Cluster > " . I noticed that UI fails silently when there are issues with the data path I gave.
For example:
-> give a path that does not have necessary permissions ("couchbase" user ownsership of the folder)
It fails silently at the same page without any response. So I opened the browser console to inspect the network for the response from ns-server's nodeInit request
{"errors":{"_":"Path expansion failed for path: {error,read_file_info,\"/root/some\",[],\n {error,eacces}}"}}
|
-> Similarly, if you gave relative path instead of absolute path UI will fail silently.
Ns-server's nodeInit response :
{"errors":{"_":"An absolute path is required for path"}}
|
Expected: UI to convey these error messages back to the user (without requiring the user to open the inspect element of the browser to check the error)
