backup service: Make custom plan more user friendly

Problem
I watched Fabrice Leray and Hyun-Ju Vega created a custom plan, some of the points that were not user friendly:

• Was hard to tell what the task type was, could not find merge
• With merge it was hard to understand what offset does

Suggestions
It would be good to expose some kind of visualisation of the custom plan.
It would be good to show the type by default even if it's not selected via the period.
