      Description

Occasionally there is a need to re-IP one or all nodes of a cluster. Unless the cluster has been setup originally to use hostnames instead of IP's, this is not currently possible.

Bumping the priority on this request, it is a constant problem for both the internal field and our customers/users

The referenced dup helps alleviate this issue, but it's not quite the same thing. MB 7398 allows the configuration of a cluster by hostname - which is the best practice thing to do. However users often create their clusters without appreciating this best practice and are then left with a cluster of IP addresses. If they subsequently want to update the cluster to use hostnames (or even update the IP addresses) then they need to follow a process of removing nodes and re-adding them - this can incur several rebalances and become quite a disruptive and time-consuming operation.

A better solution would be to allow such a rename via the GUI / couchbase-cli - even if it were implemented as a fake removal and add.
