Server permanently down in Win 8 / Server 2012 because of bad libtcmalloc_minimal-4.dll

    Details

    • Type: Bug
    • Status: Closed
    • Priority: Major
    • Resolution: Duplicate
    • Affects Version/s: 1.8.1, 2.0-beta
    • Fix Version/s: feature-backlog
    • Component/s: couchbase-bucket
    • Security Level: Public
    • Labels:
      None
    • Environment:
Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8

      Description

Post-installation, the service starts up, but is entirely unable to connect and throws substantial log errors in regards to memcached exiting.. The fix for us was to take an older libtcmalloc_minimal-4.dll and overwrite it in the current version. However, not likely to be an ideal workaround in a production environment.

So people wanting to use Couchbase on a released OS but entirely unable will have to wait until a future release? Seems worthy of 2.0.

Yes... Windows 8 and Server 2012 share the same code base.

          Hi Bin,
Can you take a look at this?

Also, I'm not up-to-date on my Windows news. Is Windows Server 2012 == Windows 8 ?

          Thanks,
          Steve

The following errors repeat forever, until the libtcmalloc replacement (and service restart). At which point everything works as expected.
