        Is this '/opt/couchbase/...share/doc/ep-engine/stats.json' ?

This needs to be added to the backup and restore documentation?

Is this needed when doing cbbackup, or only when restoring from disk files during a restore?

        MC,

stats.json is in the same directory as the data files.

        /opt/couchbase/var/lib/couchbase/data/bucketname/..

I know where it is, I need to know when it needs to be copied.

Since I wasn't in the meeting in which this was discussed, I need detailed information on what actually needs to be added.

this file need to be copied along with the data files.
in cluster restore instructions we ask the user to copy the *.mb or *.couch files from the original cluster into the destination cluster. they need to also copy the stats.json file

        per bug scrub

it helps with restoring time because it will not restart the replication if active/replica items are already replicated

In our current backup documentation we state that you should copy the database directory which will automatically include the stats.json file. For restore, we already note that you should copy that same directory back. We don't ask them to copy .mb .couch files, only the backed up directories.

I have, however, added a note to ensure that stats.json file copied is correctly copied back.
