By default most Linux systems have swappiness set to 60. This will lead to overuse of disk swap with
Couchbase Server. Please follow our current recommendations on swappiness and swap space, see

I believe we have changed our minds and swappiness. It should always be set to 0.
        This KB explains it: http://support.couchbase.com/entries/22719554-Configure-Swap-Usage.
We should update the manual to reflect the KB.

Fixed in both 2.1 and 2.2 CB Server doc. It's in Best Practices > Using Couchbase in the Cloud > Swap Space section. The change is viewable on the Stage branch. See http://docs.pub.couchbase.com/couchbase-manual-2.2/#using-couchbase-in-the-cloud.
