Prometheus monitoring support in Sync Gateway (GA)

Prometheus is an Open source systems monitoring and alerting platform and hosted by Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). It is widely growing in popularity as the de facto monitoring tool for cloud native applications. It supports PromQL, a query API that allows external applications to consume and aggregate the time series data. An example is Grafana, which is Open source data visualization and alerting platforms that supports Prometheus as a data source.

Sync Gateway is well suited for cloud-native deployments and Kubernetes deployments of Sync Gateway is growing in relevance where Prometheus is the most popular monitoring tool.

We currently support a Prometheus exporter for Sync Gateway. This feature request is to integrate this functionality and support it natively within Sync Gateway
