Description
There is documentation about configuring Sync Gateway to use load balancing in order to support horizontal scaling.
However, I don't see any documentation about load balancing in Capella App Services. Per this Slack discussion, Capella App Services has a built-in load balancer, so a user does not need to setup their own (like they would have to do with Sync Gateway).
Further, it appears the algorithm/load balancer used is dependent on the cloud service provider. E.g. App Services probably uses AWS's load balancing service when deployed to AWS, the same for Azure and GCP. It's probably a static "round robin" used for the algorithm for all of those.
I think the details should be documented for each cloud provider. E.g. a table or something listing the underlying service and the algorithm that service is using. I don't think it's configurable (yet), but I can definitely see this being of interest to an end user of Capella App Services.
