Description
For Spock, install for yum and apt-get, there are new places to get the meta packages. Pages that need update are :
https://developer.couchbase.com/documentation/server/current/install/ubuntu-debian-install.html
https://developer.couchbase.com/documentation/server/current/install/rhel-suse-install-intro.html
links from Ceej are here:
Ken has managed to update the Yum and Apt repos with 5.0.0. That is I believe the last piece of the 5.0.0 release puzzle.
IMPORTANT NOTE! We discovered that the couchbase-release packages for Ubuntu were out-of-date. This led to two serious symptoms:
1. Ubuntu 16.04 didn't even show couchbase-server packages as available.
2. Ubuntu 14 showed GPG key errors, which forced using "apt-get --allow-unauthenticated" which looked terrible.
I've created a new version of the couchbase-release .deb package which corrects both problems. I also updated the couchbase-release .rpm package although it didn't appear to exhibit similar problems. Both packages are now at version 1.0-4. URLs:
https://packages.couchbase.com/releases/couchbase-release/couchbase-release-1.0-4-amd64.deb
https://packages.couchbase.com/releases/couchbase-release/couchbase-release-1.0-4-x86_64.rpm
I do not know how we document these packages. The only place I know of is in the SDK documentation, and those entries show a very old URL (for version 1.0-0). This is something we need to make much more obvious for people going forward. But at least the above packages are available and work, if we can figure out how to tell people to get them.
