    Description

      First comment:

Compaction behaviour became obsolete in 1.3

As of 1.3, those are being destroyed every 5 minutes.

As of 1.5, /_compact will remove tombstones.

      Compaction: Reclaiming disk space.
Metadata Purge Interval: the server is going to remove the tombstones. What can go wrong if the metadata purge interval is too low? The behaviour would be identical to if it was manually purged (new rev tree). The client would re-push only if the it had a local update. 30 days may be a typical setting.

The idea with compaction generally is to reclaim disk space.
