Description
"All your machine's RAM cannot be allocated to a Couchbase Server node (per_node_ram_quota parameter) because other programs might be running on your machine."
In addition to this leaving additional available RAM will allow the Operating System memory to use for disk and filesystem buffers and improve overall disk write performance.
We generally recommend that the per node ram quota does not exceed 80% of the total ram of the machine.
