Not able to deploy couchbase-operator on new k8s cluster

I am following the steps as given in this link for bringing up the couchbase-operator on new k8s cluster which is running verion 1.8.0-0

But once the couchbase-operator-internal:1.0.0:215 image is deployed, I am continuously seeing the following prints,

E0615 16:09:08.902453       1 leaderelection.go:224] error retrieving resource lock default/couchbase-operator: endpoints "couchbase-operator" is forbidden: User "system:serviceaccount:default:default" cannot get endpoints in the namespace "default"

Steps followed prior to operator deployment on default namespace,

1. kubectl create -f https://packages.couchbase.com/kubernetes/0.8.1-beta2/k8s-rbac/cluster-role.yaml
2. kubectl create serviceaccount couchbase-operator --namespace default
3. kubectl create clusterrolebinding couchbase-operator --clusterrole couchbase-operator --serviceaccount default:couchbase-operator
