Description
I was chasing my tail trying to test Aliaksey's startup scripts and memcached wouldn't start because the main erlang process was running as root, even though he startup script uses sudo to run it as the northscale user.
101 18037 0.0 1.4 32828 12880 ? S 14:00 0:00 /opt/NorthScale/1.6.0a/erlang-13b03/lib/erlang/erts-5.7.4/bin/beam – -root /opt/NorthScale/1.6.0a/er....
Then I noticed some processes had just a UID and not a particular user name. I looked in /etc/passwd and saw two northscale users in existence.
I would think the RPM installer needs to not create the northscale user if it already exists. Bad things happen with two of the same named users.
