can we reuse current compaction_mode

We have this behavior where options like seqtree can be disabled on initial file_handle opening, and honored even if subsequent calls to fdb_open try to enable.

Can we do the same for auto_compaction option as well? I noticed that if I set to auto on initial opening but then use default for subsequent call to fdb_open I get invalid_compaction_mode. There seems to be specfic error handling for this opt and not for seqtree, perhaps for reasons I'm not aware of.
