    Description

On a clean ubuntu 14.04 image, I downloaded the 4.0RC from our web page, and installed the deb package for ubuntu 14.04.

During installation the following was displayed:

      Selecting previously unselected package couchbase-server.
(Reading database ... 51120 files and directories currently installed.)
      Preparing to unpack couchbase-server-enterprise_4.0.0-rc0-ubuntu14.04_amd64.deb ...
      libssl1.0.0 is installed. Continue installing

I saw the warnings and went to the web link, which points to a blog entitled "Often Overlooked Linux OS Tweaks".

The instructions to disable swampiness permanently are as follows:

      1. Set the value in /etc/sysctl.conf so it stays after reboot.
        sudo echo '' >> /etc/sysctl.conf
sudo echo '#Set swappiness to 0 to avoid swapping' >> /etc/sysctl.conf
        sudo echo 'vm.swappiness = 0' >> /etc/sysctl.conf

Unfortunately these commands result in the following error:
      -bash: /etc/sysctl.conf: Permission denied

      There are two issues

      (1) The commands due not work as expected
      (2) The install process points to a blog, should it not point to our formal documentation for 4.0?
