repeated sasl auth causes refused connections

centos 5.2 32bit
mc_bin_client.py

1) create a new bucket with sal auth
2) open a mc_bin_client connection
3) auth to the bucket with PLAIN
4) perform a single set
5) disconnect the client
6) repeat 2-5 as fast as possible

after ~8200 of these (within a few seconds) we start getting refused connections (python socket error "resource temporarily unavailable"). I can still telnet to moxi on 11211 though.

after about 30 seconds I can start to authorize again.

It is possible that this is actually a client issue and not a server issue.
