Integrate profiling into distributed monitoring

We need to create enough infrastructure to allow distributed monitoring to access remote profiling information.
This entails
1- letting the system datastore know the current node settings for profile and controls
2- have undocumented endpoints to return profiling information alongside the monitoring information, in such a way that the documented endpoints don't change in behaviour and get swamped with hard to decipher profiling data.
