Issue the following query:
CREATE INDEX idx ON default (DISTINCT ARRAY r.`name` FOR r IN VMs END,VMs, email);

There is a warning seen as shown in attachment.
This is a valid index creation query.

MB-25959 - This bug reported a problem with the code for detecting which fields are used in query. The problem related to the N1QL ARRAY construct, which binds a new variable to elements of an array that can be an arbitarary expression. The underlying problem was more widespread - operators such as ANY, EVERY, and FIRST perform binding of variables to arbitarary expressions, making it impossible to know what fields are used by a query, at least on the client side.: Gerrit Review:
