Description
Using the new Cloudformation templates for Couchbase Server 5.0, the couchbase administrator user is created on the VMs, but one cannot login as that user to the VM.
This is because of the following entry in the /etc/passwd file :
couchbase:x:498:497:Couchbase system user:/opt/couchbase:/sbin/nologin |
Also, the password for this user is not set as the password that the user inputs to the template.
This behavior is different from that in Microsoft Azure wherein the couchbase administrator user is also able to ssh to the VM using the same credentials.
Also, by default, the password based authentication is turned off on AWS VMs. Should the following property in the /etc/ssh/sshd_config file be turned to "yes" to allow password based authentication ?
PasswordAuthentication no
