cbbackupmgr restore makes almost no progress due to a large replication backlog on one of the nodes

    Description

      Build 5.5.0-2432.

      Setup:

      • 2 nodes
      • 20GB memory quota
      • 1 bucket, full ejection

      Steps:

      /opt/couchbase/bin/cbbackupmgr restore --archive /backups --repo bigfun20M  --threads 16 --host http://172.23.96.5 --username Administrator --password password

      cbbackupmgr is trying to restore ~320M items. It started very well and successfully loaded almost 290M items. However, one of the nodes (172.23.96.5) accumulated a large number of items pending replication to the second node (172.23.96.7). At this point both replication and cbbackupmgr barely make any progress.

      I think this is similar to MB-27591.
