Analytics: Port number consolidation

Looking through some of the recent 5.5 docs I noticed that the analytics service has 13 internal ports being used. Would it be possible to consolidate this down?

I can certainly understand the need to separate internal and external traffic as well as anything that would live on different nodes...but do we really need 13 ports all for internal communication to the same process?

It just makes an administrator's life a little more challenging if they need to open/close/remap more and more ports.
