    Description

PM has requested to add ubuntu 18.04 support to 6.0.1.

      Here is my proposal:

Introduce 18.04 with 6.0.1 targeted end of January.

Remove support for 14.04 for 6.0.1. But 14.04 will be supported until April 2019 by support team for releases from 5.x to Couchbase 6.0.

If we have customers who want to use 6.0.1 for bug fixes and if they are on Ubuntu 14.04, we have to ask them to Upgrade to Ubuntu 16.04/ 18.04 as Ubuntu 14.04 is EOL in April. (Feb-April is just 3 months)

Since Ubuntu is very popular, I don’t want to remove it completely before end of life.

Ubuntu 18.04 needs to be added to our supported platforms as soon as possible for the same reasons.

Our cloud solutions on GCP and Azure are also based on Ubuntu 14.04, they need to be upgraded to 16.04/18.04.

P.S. Mongo already supports Ubuntu 18.04 along with Ubuntu 14.04.

Please let me know your thoughts.
