Performance regression of ingestion when using HDDs

    Description

      The ingestion performance when using hard disk drives seems to have regressed in Mad-Hatter. E.g. while the ingestion speed with 4 nodes on HDDs was consistently above 300K items/s for Alice builds it's consistently below 300K items/s for Mad-Hatter builds (see http://showfast.sc.couchbase.com/#/timeline/Linux/analytics/sync/Initial).

      The ingestion performance on SSDs does not seem to be affected.
