Rethink 'cbbackupmgrs' use of hidden files

What's the issue?
Should we be creating/using hidden files, should we begin moving (in a backwards compatible fashion) over to using non-hidden files.

We've seen in some cases that using hidden files can cause issues on supported filesystems/network shares.

What's the fix?
We should determine whether it would be worth moving away from using hidden files or whether we should just document that we create/use unix style hidden files.
