    Description

Observed during the usability testing :-

Challenge to find the appropriate Configure page. Google search with “configure couchbase” top level link does not bring the user to the right page. (https://docs.couchbase.com/tutorials/profile-store/install.html)

Simon Dew this is a simple change. Can you or Ray make this change and push it out?

Rekha Nair what would you prefer to be the appropriate top search result for "configure Couchbase"? How about Explore the Server Configuration?

Simon Dew - I would suggest instead of Server - Couchbase Server or Couchbase

"Explore configuration of the Couchbase Cluster"

Simon Dew this is the issue:

            1. user google "configure couchbase"
            2. the first search result is "How to Set Up and Configure Couchbase"
            3. user clicks on the link https://docs.couchbase.com/tutorials/profile-store/install.html
            4. This page (and the same one for the tutorials on Session Store" is misleading. It does NOT tell user how to configure couchbase

            options:
            1. add a link to these tutorial pages to point to the relevant section in documentation on how to configure couchbase
            2. fix the title and tags to remove "configure" from these pages so that they don't show up when user googles "configure couchbase"

This should be a quick fix.

To the best of my knowledge, the docs contributor tutorials are deprecated, and will be replaced by the DA tutorials, which we have no control over.

A better fix would be to mark the docs tutorials (and the DA tutorials) as no-index for search engines.

For now I’m going to do a quick fix to reword the titles of tutorials which are currently called “How to Setup and Configure a Couchbase Cluster”, just to remove these pages from the search results.

Created MB-50940 as a follow up ticket to decide on the canonical URL for "Configure Couchbase" and mark it as such. Might need help from the Web team.
