Enable Replica reads using sub-document API

    Description

      Today, when reading from replica in a failure scenario, one cannot currently make use of the sub-document API. This increases code complexity (since the error-handling code must use the document level API when reading from replica) and increases network transport overhead.

      Customers would like to have the ability to use the sub-document API when reading from replicas. I have opened this issue so that we can track this feature in our plans.
