Description
In order to secure data from various threats, a method to support immutable data would be useful. This could be at various levels depending on the use-case, be it a Bucket, Scope, Collection, Document or individual field. Examples of threats include.
- External attacks with deletions or ransomware
- Misconfigured application updates
- Accidental deletion or bucket flush
Immutability could be immediate at document creation or configured to start after a time-frame like TTL.
The method to disable immutability once set could be with a time-delay lock and additional protections requiring multi-factor authentication (MFA) from an authorised user.
